What’s in my bathroom: The skincare edition

's in my bathroom: The skincare edition
I’ve often talked about my personal obsession with skincare products and how particular I am about the products I use. Don’t believe me? Check out this post and this post (but after you’ve finished this one, of course). Today, I thought I’d take you on a quick tour of the stuff I use every single day to keep my skin from completely turning against me and, I don’t know, growing scales or something.

I recently got into the whole Jennifer Aniston-inspired Aveeno craze after I got another tattoo. The artist recommended it as a really gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to help keep my skin hydrated while it heals. It has such a creamy and gentle texture that I’ve started keeping it at my desk to apply to my hands throughout the day.

The whole charcoal beauty trend is something, of course, I had to glom on to. I came across Bioré’s Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips at Shopper’s Drug Mart. Each time I use it, my pores look a little bit smaller and a whole lot fresher.

I told you I glommed onto the charcoal craze and I wasn’t lying. When I got the pore strips, I also walked away with Bioré’s Self Heating One Minute Mask. Empty the package into your palm, add a splash of water, and the face mask starts to warm instantly. Apply it to your face and massage it in for one minute. When you’re done, rinse it off and pat your face dry. So simple and so effective.

Of course, everyone knows about my face mask addiction, so it’s no surprise I included two of my favourites – the Hydrating Face Mask and the Hydrating Sheet Mask. Both incredibly gentle on my sensitive skin and perfect for unwinding after a long day.

A few notable mentions? The Calgon Ocean Breeze Moisturizing Bubble Bath, for one. I would never tell you something does something if I hadn’t experienced it first hand, so believe me when I tell you that I feel like a pile of silk wrapped around a newborn baby when I’m done with a bath infused with this stuff.

The Olay SPF cream is something I’ve trusted for a few years now and is one of the longest-running staples in my skincare routine. It’s incredibly gentle and, in most cases, a little goes a long way.
